    Afternoon tea with family.

Felt the sandwiches had more of a spread rather than a filling! Very basic. Also, the one with the gin - a cup of tea/coffee would have been nice as well as gin, not instead of! Definitely had better afternoon tea!

    Restaurant was well presented.

We went for afternoon tea on a very wintry day in St Andrews so it was pretty quiet. Staff were attentive and food delicious.

    Love this place

This is a restaurant that we have eaten in many times. We like the food [especially the steaks), the atmosphere and the service. So on our recent visit to St Andrews, we made a booking through 5pm, offering 30% off a la carte menu. On arrival, we were informed that there was no fillet steak available😪. We made our choices and were not disappointed, the truffle and Parmesan fries were a wonderful accompaniment to our steaks. After dinner we were joined for drinks by friends and we had a lovely time sitting in the restaurant and staff were very attentive. The only negative aspect to our visit was when I said that we had booked through 5pm website, the waitress asked for a voucher! When I explained that there was no voucher she asked for proof of reservation, even though she checked our booking on her computer. Bizarre! She then said that we could choose only from starter and mains menus, but not the grill! I asked her to check this information. This seemed to contradict the deal we had booked. At this point we were quite prepared to leave and eat elsewhere. She returned to say we could choose grill menu too. Wasn’t impressed by this. Perhaps a little staff training may ease these problems. Loved the meal and will definitely return.

Cosy evening dining, this is for you!

The crab starter was delicious and steaks cooked to perfection with all sides and sauces were tasty and worked well together. Only slight negative is the cheese option, cheese tasteless but not sure if just because not at room temperature. Good size portion though but all very safe and little differential in the options tastes.

    Fantastic steakhouse

Went yesterday and was impressed with fantastic food, struggled finishing 3 courses. Good portion size. Staff exceptionally friendly and was surprised to see a gin distillery on site. Bought bottle of orange and cranberry gin with guidance from staff to accompany it with ginger ale. Live in Ayrshire but when next in St. Andrews will definitely make a point of returning. Thank you guys.
