British restaurant in West End
The Drake is situated in Glasgow’s West End on the border of the Park and Woodlands areas and serves excellent food, made with local, fresh produce.
The venue has a bar downstairs and a more formal restaurant upstairs. The restaurant has a sophisticated townhouse feel and is beautifully decorated yet is a comfortable space with a relaxed ambience.
The bar has original bare brick work, coal fires and garden areas to the front and rear and a great local feel.
Seasonal menus
The menus at The Drake are seasonal and change regularly however a typical example of a main from the prix fixe menu would be the herb crusted haddock fillet with lemon crushed new potatoes, wilted spinach a beurre blanc.
The a la carte menu has a mix of British classics, some with an international twist such as the beef and oxtail ravioli or the pan fried fillet of pollock served with a samphire grass, chorizo and baby squid broth.
For those with a smaller appetite, there are a choice of small plates and sharing boards such as venison Scotch eggs or the confit leek and Dunsyre blue cheese tartlet small plates or the a taste of the sea sharing platter – Uig lodge hot smoked salmon risotto ball, house cured salmon, sweet cured herring, west coast mussels, grilled crevettes and an Orkney crab, samphire and baby squid salad.
