Rating Stunning Surf and Turf (Rating 5.0/5)
A hidden gem! Travelling just over an hour to have a Surf and Turf lunch was well worth the journey.
Greeted by a very welcoming and friendly member of staff and offered a table by the window, which was great for watching the world go by.
Opted for a glass of wine and a soft drink to accompany our surf and turf.
Huge portion of beautifully tender steak and 4 prawns on a plentiful bed of mushrooms/peppers and onions, accompanied by piping hot chips and peppercorn sauce. We added new potatoes with cheese and leek (forgetting we were getting chips!). With hindsight, we didn’t actually need another side, but would have opted for cauliflower cheese.
My only disappointment was that I didn’t have any room for a pudding, as I had already decided on the decadent-sounding chocolate sphere. I couldn’t even manage a cup of tea, but my husband thoroughly enjoyed a Black Forest pudding and a lovely coffee.
Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, it was stunning. I would happily travel again to have this meal.
