    Awesome Restaurant STEAK......

I gifted this to friends who were visiting Edinburgh. They loved the restaurant. They said the Haggis Bonbons were a triumph, Scotch Broth the best soup they had tasted ever, Cured Venison with pickled parsnip superb, Hake medallion with leeks was their most favourite dish and then the steaks by Donald Russell - awesome, one of them upgraded to Ribeye which was slightly more tender than the included Rump, but both were brilliant. Their Desserts of white chocolate tart with Pears was like a 'Concerto of Sunbeams' according to them, so I think they enjoyed that too. All in All a superb offer, Prosecco and Malbec included. Well done STEAK and 5pm.

Theatrical steak restaurant in Edinburgh city centre

Steak Restaurant is on Edinburgh’s Picardy Place where the top of Leith Walk meets York Place. Very much a destination restaurant, it is a dramatic space with theatrical candle light and an attention-grabbing neon sign behind the bar. There is a chunky cocktail list of mainly classic concoctions and a select, upmarket wine list with the bins grouped according to the different types of steak on offer. While the setting is sensational, the service is polished and welcoming. Steak Restaurant is ideal for a daring date, a celebratory dinner or a special night out with friends.

Carefully selected, dry-aged steaks

Dry aged and lovingly matured, the finest steaks from Donald Russell and Simon Howie take pride of place on the menu at Steak Restaurant. As well as choosing different cuts, diners can select certain steaks to be served on or off the bone. Sharing cuts such as the Chateaubriand and cote de boeuf add to the options. Of course, assorted side dishes and sauces add further permutations.

While steak is the star of the show here, there is plenty of room for other ingredients. Loch Fyne oysters, seared Scottish scallops and tuna steaks are among the seafood options. Other choices might be the roasted loin of Borders venison, a Balmoral chicken roulade or indeed the crispy pumpkin loaf with grilled king oysters, roasted parsnips and a red onion gel.

City centre transport and attractions

Steak Restaurant is on Picardy Place, a two minute walk for the Omni Centre and Edinburgh Playhouse. The tramline is practically outside the restaurant and Waverley is a ten minute walk. There is very limited on-street parking and pay parking at Omni.
