  Lovely surprise

  It was a truly lovely surprise to find a delightful restaurant nearer our hotel. The service was friendly and the food exciting and a bit different. Our waitress was helpful with her recommendations which were great choices. The chef came to ask us about our experience and we were made really welcome. Definitely somewhere we will return to next time we are in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh River Life is located on Dalry Road in Edinburgh’s Haymarket area and provides quality French and Caribbean cuisine. The restaurant opened in 2012 and many regular customers consider it to be a hidden gem in Scotland’s capital. The restaurant’s experienced head chef is passionate about Caribbean and French Provencal cuisine and strives to ensure every diner receives the best eating experience these two cultures can provide. Some popular starters at Edinburgh River Life includes the seafood bisque, the fig in pancetta with blue cheese & balsamic dressing, and the sauté prawns with garlic and ginger.

Restaurant diners have also reserved praise for the spicy jerk chicken with rice, the chicken supreme with Saint Agur cheese and garlic & chive crushed potatoes, as well as the fish Leon dumpling with Provencal vegetables – the head chef’s very own creation!
