Opened in the summer of 2015, The Weavers Table Kitchen and Larder is a casual Scottish bistro on Paisley’s New Street. The decor is simple but comfortable and the welcome is always warm.
The chefs at The Weavers Table like to source locally where possible and prepare everything from scratch on the premises. They even do their own butchery on site. Well presented, casual Scottish dining is the name of the game. For a real lunchtime treat, diners could choose dishes like the haggis fritters with spiced sauce followed by the slow-cooked, pressed belly of pork with an apple and black pudding gratin.
The kitchen goes into top gear with the evening menus. Typical starters might be the Scottish mussels in a mariniere sauce with soda bread or an Arran cheddar, roast tomato and onion tart. The menus change regularly but popular main courses might be the roast lamb rump with crispy potatoes, sautéed market vegetables and a mint gravy or the grilled plaice with crushed potatoes and a caper and shallot butter. There are always daily specials such as the pan-fried duck with sautéed new potatoes, squash purée and a red wine jus.
The Weavers Table is on New Street in central Paisley. Local attractions include Paisley Arts Centre and Paisley Museum and Art Galleries. The nearest train station is at Gilmour Street.
